"When you are not who you think you are..."
We often have our own ideas of the way we see ourselves, however, this does not always equate to the way others see us.
In fact, how many times have you received a compliment, on a piece of work, signing a new client, a presentation you delivered, or the way you handled a difficult situation, your approach to your work, and struggled to accept it? Perhaps dismissing the positive comments made, which others see as a reflection of who you are?
Or simply been surprised at the 360 feedback you received in your review, as you didn't realise others thought of you in that way? Here is the thing, the way we see ourselves is not necessarily the way others see us.
It is worth taking the time to understand how others perceive you, and whether you need to work on changing or enhancing that impression.
➡️ Simply ask a few people in your professional network who know you well to share 3 words to describe you.
➡️ What are the first words to come to mind?
➡️ Are you surprised by the responses?
➡️ Are the responses aligned with who you think you are?
By managing our personal brand, and the way we show up, we get to influence how others perceive us.
